Stupid is as Stupid Says

Gosh you know what happens when you take a break?  Tons of things happen that give you reason to write and that means a new Thumb’s Up, Thumb’s Down.

Let’s start with Terry Bollea aka Hulk Hogan and his stupid remark talking about how he now understands OJ Simpson.  I think Terry has fallen on his head in the wrestling arena too many times.    Do “celebrities” think they can just drop phrases like that and it is going to be okay?  Thumb’s down Terry and calling you a celebrity sticks – my keys don’t want to type the letters.

I watched the Oprah interview of Elizabeth and John Edwards and I have to ask WTF?  I am not sure I understand why she, of all women, had to write a book about John’s stupidity and thinking with his smaller head.  When I was done watching and thinking about what other people posted I am on the side of the fence that says Elizabeth you did not need to do that.  I think it made you look bad.  Thumb’s down to Elizabeth Edwards.

While I am on a roll with people who open their mouths (and lives) and say incredibly stupid things I cannot leave the topic until I talk about Wanda Sykes really stupid comment:

“Rush Limbaugh said he hopes this administration fails,” Sykes said. “So you’re saying, ‘I hope America fails’, you’re, like, ‘I don’t care about people losing their homes, their jobs, our soldiers in Iraq’. He just wants the country to fail. To me, that’s treason He’s not saying anything differently than what Osama bin Laden is saying. You know, you might want to look into this, sir, because I think Rush Limbaugh was the 20th hijacker. But he was just so strung out on OxyContin he missed his flight.”

Sykes then said, “Rush Limbaugh, I hope the country fails, I hope his kidneys fail, how about that? He needs a good waterboarding, that’s what he needs.”

Before anyone jumps down my throat, I also happen to agree that Limbaugh deserves to be taken to the wire but that was overboard.  When Limbaugh found out about John Edwards he made that horrible comment about Edwards finding a woman who does something else with her mouth besides talk.

Touche” and a double thumb’s down to both of them.

Anyone besides me concerned with who is keeping an eye on China these days?  Did you hear they want to purchase US gold with the US dollars in their treasury and the IMF is thinking hmmm not such a bad idea and my “favorite senator Barney Frank likes the idea?

Now they are on the verge of surpassing Japan in the manufacturing of automobiles and about to market GM products – please tell me someone is watching China I do not want my grandchildren’s children to be speaking Chinese in school.  Thumb’s down to Barney Frank he is going to try to sneak this one through.

I will flip it now and talk about how much fun it was to watch the Preakness on Saturday and give a huge double thumb’s up to the winning jockey, Calvin Borel, what a man.  He took Mine the Bird to the line at the Kentucky Derby and brought Rachel Alexandra to the line on Saturday with Mine the Bird close – very close.  It was an incredible win.

Thumb’s up to Mother Nature who has delivered a whole bunch of wet rainy weather to our very draught laden area, we needed it and according to the noon report, she will keep bringing it to us.

Thumb’s up to my little dog, Taffy, who brings so much joy to our lives.  He has a knee that slips out of it position.  When this happens he walks around crying in pain.  He is so pitiful.  Well as the day went on it evidently got back where it belongs and he is fine now.  It is so pitiful to hear a dog cry and not be able to do anything to help.  He is a brave little guy.

Thumb’s up to 8 year old Tyler here in the Tampa area who saw his 3 year old neighbor climb the ladder for an above ground pool and fall in.  Tyler jumped the fence and dived into the pool and brought her up to her mother.  When interviewed Tyler said “Her mouth was purple” and when they asked him how he felt he said “I was scared to death.”  What a kid.

So it has been just another TUTD posting and I know I will be back more frequently because I cannot believe the things people do that are just ripe for the picking to write about.

And that is a wrap.
